Have you enjoyed the digital magazines that the Delaware County District Library offers? For a number of years we subscribed to a service called Zinio, which provided more than 70 different popular magazine titles for download on your digital device.
The provider of this content, Recorded Books, has now launched a new all-in-one app called RBdigital. If you have used the Zinio app, RBdigital now replaces it. You can keep using your Zinio app, but Recorded Books will close down functionality at some point, which is currently planned for September 30. RBdigital is available as a free download from your device’s app store (iOS, Android, Kindle Fire). It allows users to listen to audiobooks and read digital magazines all in one location.
Before you log in to the app, you’ll want to double-check that you have an account set up on the site. To do this, visit http://delawareoh.rbdigital.com. If you already have an account through Zinio, your same credentials will work. Once you check that, you’re ready to log in to the app.
The greatest benefit of this new app is that it combines the digital magazine service you already know and enjoy with an easy way to download additional e-materials like audiobooks and ebooks. All three formats can easily be read or listened to within the app. Ebooks are available for seven days and audiobooks remain on the app for ten days after checkout. However, once downloaded, magazines remain stored in the app and on the device as long as you’d like until you tire of them.
Delaware Library patrons who enjoy electronic content now have three great options to meet their “e-needs.” Earlier this summer, we announced our newest relationship with hoopla, an on-demand streaming library service that offers patrons ebook, audiobook, television, movie and music downloads. OverDrive also continues to be a popular source of digital content downloads thanks to a vast library and resource sharing through the Ohio Digital Library.
Here are some popular magazines you’ll find on RBdigital.
