National Voter Registration Day
On September 17, 2024, celebrate National Voter Registration Day with a cross-country effort to register voters ahead of this year’s presidential election.
Every eligible American voter should have the option to exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box, and National Voter Registration Day is the right day to start by getting registered. Communities across the country, in all 50 states and D.C., are planning to use National Voter Registration Day to get registered and get #VoteReady.
On September 17, we invite you to come into any DCDL branch to register online to vote in this year’s election, or to complete your paper voter registration form. To register online, you will need your Ohio driver’s license or Ohio identification card number and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
NationalVoterRegistrationDay.org provides a listing of National Voter Registration Day events across the country, in communities and being held virtually. It also includes comprehensive and state-specific resources on all things voter registration and voting more generally.
Founded in 2012 and celebrated each September, National Voter Registration Day involves dedicated Partners of every stripe from all over the country hitting the streets for a single star-spangled awesome day of coordinated field, digital, and media action focused squarely on growing our shared democracy. Over 5 million Americans have registered to vote on the holiday since the inaugural National Voter Registration Day. We hope you’ll join us this year!
